Make up assignments are available when a students has missed days due to absence, sickness, or injury. These assignments are not considered extra credit and cannot be collected to use towards lazy days or lack of effort.
The first step is to meet with the instructor and ask what has been missed and take the initiative to make up missed points. It is up to the teacher to determine what will be acceptable.
Students are encouraged to participate in intramural activities at lunchtime to make up for missed points. Students report to the teacher at lunch and take part in the activity that is available that day. For each day they participate, they make up one day missed.
Students can also take advantage of making up missed work through researching a sports or fitness related concept and preparing a report. For everyday missed a 1/2 page report is needed to make up those missed points. Students need to talk with the teacher for appropriate report topics and timelines.
The sooner students make up missed points, the sooner their grade can be modified to increase their point total.
